So if your into makeup then it’s safe to say that you have had your experience with pressed powders cracking, breaking and making a total mess. It is demise of all powder makeup. Being able to fix broken powder makeup is something I have been wanting to do. Eventually we all drop it and it shatters into dust all over your makeup bag. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be the end of that cute eye shadow, highlighter or blush. I recently came a crossed a brand called FIXY. They make a create and repair kit for pressed powder make up and honestly, I am in love. It makes fixing your broken powders so easy.

First Impression

At first, I was little worried about the mess it would make but luckily the way the kit is developed it makes it really easy to keep all your powder in the containers. Transferring the powders into the pressing mold with the tin was easy too because of the tools that come in the kit. This kit to fix your broken powder makeup ultimately comes with 3 little tools, a brush, spatula with a pick end and a small grinder. You also get a fixative spray that bonds the powders together. Your box has a grate you grind your powders into along with a mold to hold your tins and the press to compress your powders. To start you out Fixy gives you 3 sizes of metal tins 3 of each size, 9 tins total. However, you can buy replacement tins on their website.  My favorite part about the kit is the magnetic pallets the tins go in. I got the pro kit and it came with one tiny pallet and one large. They have big mirrors and they are everything I wanted them to be.

How much powder do you need?

This for me this was hard to judge at first, in the kit there is a very small line on the inside of the plastic mold. It looks like a plastic seam life by the mold. After briefly chatting with the company I learned that the little seam is indeed the fill line and if you fill the loose powder to that point it will compress to fill the tin perfectly. Now that I know this is the fill line, it will be easier for me to judge. Big thank you to the Fixy team for watching my video on Instagram. They saw me struggling and reached out to me about it. They are very proactive, and I love that!

Final Thoughts

I think this kit needs to be in everyone’s beauty arsenal. Not only does it make you more self-sufficient, but it really helps repair your makeup. In the past I tossed out so much expensive makeup, if I had this kit at my disposal it would have saved me so much money. It’s also a purchase I can feel good about because ultimately it makes me eco-friendlier. I am combining my powders, creating new makeup from my old makeup and using the magnetic pallets to keep my favorite make in one convenient place thus creating less waste. It works so well to fix your broken powder makeup.

If you have any broken makeup you are contemplating tossing, rethink that and get this repair kit. It’s streamlined, super easy and kind of fun experimenting with.
