Opinions on the Jade Roller

So to start out my how to jade roll- easy review and tutorial, I want to say what I like about this particular roller from Amazon. It’s sturdy, smooth and doesn’t squeak. In the past I have issues with the rollers being loud, and with roller heads falling off. Which is just so frustrating! Luckily, I have had this particular set for a year and haven’t experienced any of those problems 🙌WOO!

I personally like to use this jade roller in rose quartz to help with product penetration. This tool is great at pushing serums into the skin. I think it works well when you use this as apart of your skin care routine. Therefore, I try to use it once a week either with a sheet mask or with a serum/oil. The next benefit of using a roller is that it promotes circulation of the lymph. So doing a Lymphatic drainage massage just got easier…

Honestly, learning the hand motions and pressure for lymphatic drainage is hard, as an esthetician I had to learn this in school. Using the roller tool helps streamline the process and by design you can’t really press too hard because the roller will push and move. So, keeping a light to medium pressure is a lot easier than with your bare hands. The basic movements are very easy to incorporate and remember. Which I love, because I’m all about keeping it simple! The other great thing about this roller is how well it is made, it doesn’t squeak, fall apart or have uneven sharp edges or cracks in the stone.

Opinions on the Gua Sha stone

So to be completely honest, I use my Gua Sha stone less than I use my roller. I find keeping a light pressure is easier with my roller. To move lymph you want a lighter touch rather than heavy. However, this particular stone is really nice because it is smooth, clean and has no rough edges. The motions for a basic Gua Sha stone massage is very similar to the motions with the roller. So, swapping one for the other is relatively easy! With Gua Sha, I do not use a gel serum or mask. I strictly keep with using a toner and a facial oil. Trust me, you will get better slip and have a more relaxing experience if you stick to using a facial oil. I use this technique less for product penetration and more for relaxing my facial muscles and for lymphatic drainage.

How to use- Basic motions Tutorial

  1. Apply facial oil, serum, gel or sheet mask
  2. You will want to massage your neck doing downward strokes. This will ignite circulation through your neck and open up those ducts to get the lymph we are going to be pushing from the face.
  3. Start doing motions from inside to outside on your forehead working toward the temple. Have a medium to light pressure and repeat strokes 3-4 times slowly.
  4. Repeat same motion down the face, cheeks and chin.
  5. Finish massage by repeating the second step on the neck.

The process is the same for the Gua Sha stone except you want to make sure you are placing the stone flat against your skin. You do not want to massage with the edge of this stone.

Final Thoughts on this product

I would buy this product again. It does what it is supposed to do, promotes relaxation, product penetration and lymphatic drainage. The quality of the set is good, and because its a decent price for the kit I’m tempting to buy it in another color. Gemstones and their meanings have always fascinated me and this brand offers many different options with their kits. I hope you found my How to jade roll- easy review and tutorial helpful!
